Enlarged Prostate (BPH)
Better sleep, better flow, without unnecessary surgery.
Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a normal part of aging for many men, but the urinary symptoms don't have to disrupt your day or your sleep. We take the time to understand how bothered you actually are, and match treatment to your life — not to the size of the prostate on a scan.
For: Men waking up at night to urinate, or noticing weaker flow.
When to see a urologist
- Waking up more than once a night to urinate
- Weak stream, hesitancy, dribbling, or a sense of incomplete emptying
- Frequent daytime urination that's affecting work, travel, or intimacy
- Blood in the urine or recurrent urinary infections
How we'll evaluate it
- Symptom score (IPSS) and a focused history of what's changed
- Uroflow, post-void residual, and PSA when indicated
- Prostate exam and, in some cases, ultrasound imaging
Treatment options we offer
Medications
Alpha blockers and 5-alpha reductase inhibitors, alone or combined, tuned to your symptoms and side-effect tolerance.
UroLift® System
Minimally invasive in-office procedure that lifts prostate tissue out of the way — no cutting, no removal of tissue, quick recovery.
Rezūm™ water vapor therapy
Uses targeted steam to gently reduce prostate tissue over a few weeks. In-office, most men return to normal activity within days.
Da Vinci robotic prostate surgery
For larger prostates or cases where minimally invasive options aren't enough — precise, small-incision surgery with faster recovery than open surgery.
Most men with BPH never need major surgery. The goal is straightforward: help you sleep through the night and feel in control of your day.
